Location: St. Marys

Saint Mary’s Behavioral Health Center, LLC is an evidence-based, client-centered treatment program that offers clients with all levels of need therapeutic interventions in an environment that is warm and welcoming. The population served includes adolescent clients, ages 11-17 up to 19 years of age, who are currently receiving residential treatment for behavioral health—including self-harm, aggression, suicidal ideation, substance abuse, trauma, mood instability, depression, and anxiety.

SMBHC offers residential treatment so clients can receive care that meets them where they are and helps them “Be the great person they were always meant to be.” We are looking for Cooks who thrive in a team-based, client-centric environment.

Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Rotating schedule between morning (6am-2pm) and evening (11am-7pm) shifts

Pay: $18.50 base; experience will determine full range

Job Responsibilities
  • Follow all Board of Health requirements and the state of Georgia Guidelines.
  • Obtain and remain in compliance as a Certified Food Handler.
  • Ensure all menus are approved and signed by the location dietician.
  • Follow nutrition requirements and portion sizes.
  • Create and post updated menus for clients.
  • Ensure breakfast items are stocked and prepared.
  • Ensure food temperatures meet requirements and document in the logbook.
  • Maintain refrigerator and freezer temperatures, document in the logbook.
  • Sanitize refrigerators and freezers and ensure no products are past expiration date.
  • Ensure all dry goods are not past their expiration date.
  • Secure all inventory in a locked storage area.
  • Clean kitchen and appliances thoroughly daily.
  • Practice ethics and boundaries with clients.
  • Report needed maintenance, faulty equipment, or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
  • Cook and prepare meals for clients following dietary guidelines, meal modifications, and restrictions per client’s needs.
  • Apply culinary cooking techniques, nutrition and diet therapy knowledge, food safety, and food waste control.
  • Know time and temperature of food preparation and storage.
  • Work with commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Perform batch scratch food preparation.
  • Wear slip‑resistant and closed‑toe shoes.
  • Perform other duties assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • 2+ years of culinary experience.
