Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesReporting directly to the Manager of FP Post Innovation, the Project Engineer is responsible for providing Engineering data to support Operations, Quality and Customers.
This Includes, But Is Not Limited To- Organise internal and external customer product approvals and special testing. This will involve qualification of internal and external coupling ranges on Gates Hose products.
- Analyse test results and Issue documentation and customer reports as required
- Support the creation of new parts/drawings including drawing checking and approval sign-off
- Provide assistance in the design and development work for new product designs and existing product iterations when needed
- Create crimp data through crimp trials and manufacturing test samples to be tested in one of Gates Fluid power Test Labs. This includes using Gates self-assembly equipment
- Issue crimp data for Production and distribution market for Gates Hose/Coupling assemblies and maintaining the internal Production crimp database as necessary
- Promote and Develop business process’s/procedures locally and globally
- Assist and help develop BSI Standards and attend BFPA meetings as required.
- Acquires general knowledge of principles and practices of related fields, and ability to function on multidisciplinary teams.
- Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate the company in the market

- 5-7 years of experience
- A degree or HNC in Mechanical combined with relevant experience
- Computer literacy is essential including being competent with Microsoft Office. CAD experience would be an advantage but not essential
- Be focused, self-motivated and demonstrate a willingness to learn, with an enthusiasm for technical subjects
- A strong desire to succeed with proven planning and organisational skills
- Knowledge of Fluid Power products would be an advantage
- Ability to demonstrate excellent attention to detail and able to foresee potential problems
- Will require travel within the UK and abroad to support the business
- Normal office working hours, but extended hours will be required to suit business needs
- Interpersonal and facilitation skills required to work in a multi-disciplinary environment are essential
- A positive and helpful attitude to team members and Customers must be maintained
- Work in a tidy organised way and progress work at a pace to support a continually changing department
