Requirements
  • We expect you to have previously worked in a similar senior data science role and be able to balance technical delivery with leadership responsibilities while managing multiple priorities.
  • You should have strong analytical thinking, a passion for solving complex problems, and the ability to communicate technical concepts to different audiences.
  • Experience writing scripts to provide insights into complex system performance within high-volume synthetic environments, using Python or MATLAB.
  • Experience with data transformation and visualisation frameworks.
  • Experience generating GUIs to display key data insights.
  • Experience developing product-quality software applications.
  • A BSc or Masters degree in a data-related subject.
  • A strong background in statistics and data assimilation techniques is desirable.
  • Experience prototyping AI/ML techniques, such as LLMs and neuromorphic systems, is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Electromagnetic Spectrum systems such as Radar, Electronic Warfare or Jamming technologies is desirable.
  • An interest in GPU-accelerated architectures and high-performance computing is desirable.
  • Experience using Dev Ops and software development tools such as Jira and Bit Bucket is desirable.
  • You must be a UK national and eligible to work in the UK.
  • You must be eligible to obtain and maintain UK Government SC level security clearance.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of data science activities in support of a dedicated Test & Evaluation programme.
  • Define, scope and review tasking for Data Science team members.
  • Develop analytical, predictive and visualisation solutions using modern data science techniques.
  • Prototype and evaluate emerging AI and machine learning technologies.
  • Develop robust, high-quality software applications and tools.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to colleagues.
  • Report progress and technical outputs to project stakeholders.
  • Support business development activities and technical bid responses.
  • Ensure data science processes and best practices are followed.
  • Work closely with project leads and customers to understand complex challenges and deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Help shape the future direction of our Data Science capability.
  • Identify opportunities to apply emerging technologies.
  • Support business growth through technical input into bids and proposals.
