911 Dispatcher

This position is responsible for receiving records and 911 calls, routing emergency and non-emergency communications, dispatching applicable agencies, and maintaining and documenting radio communication and other records.

Successful Dispatchers are detail focused, steady under pressure, and team-oriented.

Dispatches appropriate units to specific calls utilizing a radio console; tracks calls and notifies appropriate individual(s) of situations requiring their attention.

Maintains and retrieves information from Initial Compliant Reports (ICRs), files, and computer programs; disseminates information to appropriate agencies and individuals.

Maintains and files court documents in ICRs. Enters data into state and federal computer systems.

Minimum Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED; and
• A valid Minnesota Driver’s License, or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.

Candidates who are offered a position must pass an extensive background check, including a physical and psychological assessment, as well as successfully pass the on-line dispatching exam.
