Under general supervision, the Utility Laborer performs a variety of work involving the maintenance of the city's facilities and infrastructure throughout Saint Peter.
Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Possession of a Minnesota Class A or B Commercial Driver’s license within six months of employment with the City
- Possession of an American Heart Certification as a Basic Rescuer for cardiopulmonary resuscitation and emergency cardiac care, or the ability to obtain within six months of employment with the City
- Demonstrated experience of full-time employment (32 hours per week or greater) for at least 12 continuous months
- Valid Class A or B commercial driver’s license
- Demonstrated experience in the operation of a dump truck, loader, backhoe, skid steer, wood chipper, aerial lift truck, chainsaw, stump grinder
- Demonstrated knowledge of utility operations, road construction, building construction, facility maintenance, electrical wiring, plumbing and maintenance, landscaping, turf management and maintenance
- Demonstrated ability to speak conversational Somali or Spanish
Min $23.04 - Max $23.99 per hour (2025 Union rates) (non-exempt).
