The Food Service Associate prepares and delivers patient meals within strict deadlines while maintaining a high level of patient satisfaction for food and nutrition. Responsibilities include preparation/assembly of meals, assisting with dishwashing and utility work and/or handling register.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain compliance with the diet prescription and obtaining preferences within that diet.
  • Operate register when assigned, according to established procedures, including correct close out, deposit steps and completion of over‑ring error slips.
  • Clean and sanitize all equipment - cooking equipment, work stations, refrigerators, and food warmers.
  • Perform routine sanitation assignments such as sweeping, mopping, garbage removal and completion of the daily checklist.
  • Complete and maintain proper documentation of dish‑machine temperatures, chemical logs, food temperatures, late tray logs and pantry supply sheet for dry and cold items delivered.
  • Post menu board and signage as assigned.
  • Prepare and serve food accurately following menu and portion guides. Complete pre‑portioning of desserts and other foods as assigned.
  • Stock station with food, supplies and other needed items.
  • Inspect china for cleanliness and chippings.
  • Deliver/pick up food trucks according to schedule and deliver Child Care meals as assigned.
  • Adhere to proper food handling methods required by local, state and federal regulations.
  • Follow all HACCP, Aide & HIPAA guidelines including proper hand washing, personal hygiene, food production, storage, labeling and dating, recording accurate temperatures on a timely basis, and cleaning and sanitation.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adhere to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Preferred Qualifications
  • High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
  • Some experience in food service.
Compensation

Minimum rate of $17.32 hourly. HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency for our team members. The posted rate of pay is a reasonable good faith estimate of the minimum base pay for this role at the time of posting in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Act.

In addition to the base compensation, HMH offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and retirement benefits.
