Trinity Health Of New England is looking for a Mental Health Worker / Behavioral Health Technician to join our team of mission-driven healthcare professionals located on our Behavioral Health Unit at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Stafford Springs, CT
.
The Mental Health Worker / Behavioral Health Tech is a key role to keep patients engaged in recovery-oriented activities, help to communicate patient’s needs to the clinical team, monitor patient safety and work with the nursing professionals to create a healing environment for patients.
Responsibilities- Performs patient observations and other patient care activities.
- Observes patient behavior.
- Performs, reports, and documents vital signs, ADLs.
- Responds rapidly to emergency call lights and performs safety checks.
- Provides group and individual interventions to assist the psychiatric patient towards recovery and rehabilitation.
- Education:
High School Diploma/Equivalent with related experience required. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field preferred. - Certification: AHA CPR/BLS for Healthcare Providers.
- Experience:
Possesses a broad practical understanding of life experiences and the ability to relate to emotionally ill individuals. - Prior experience in psychiatric setting is a plus.
- Ability to prioritize tasks. Maintain confidentiality. Good problem-solving skills.
- Full-Time – Days (36 hours – three 12-hour shifts 7a-7p).
