Scope- A Lamination Operator will perform all duties related to Lay-up and Press, including setup, start-up, shutdown, operation, quality checks, preventive maintenance and minor repairs. An operator will work with machines that move work from station to station. The role involves exposure to hazardous waste and requires Chemical Handling training prior to starting and ongoing hazardous waste and chemical handling training.
- Perform all lay-up process steps
- Learn press operations, including setups, loading & unloading, normal shutdown, and emergency shutdown
- Perform breakdown process
- Monitor and produce quality product by following all processing instructions
- Receive and sort core layers, gather other production materials, and perform lay-up operations on panels by following all instructions
- Operate lamination presses, break down pressed panels, route and inspect pressed panels
- Follow all work instructions to accurately tack and press coverlay materials to core layers
- Complete all internal departmental documentation accurately including travelers, daily preventive maintenance logs and heat rise press cycle charting
- Read and interpret shop traveler to verify count and quality of previous process steps
- Read and interpret stack-up/construction and documented instructions or notes for special requirements
- Enter jobs and quality information in the Manufacturing Control System
- Immediately communicate to your Supervisor, Manager or Process Engineer any discrepancies found in materials, product, or equipment
- Maintain a safe, neat and orderly workplace
- Follow all safety measures when handling chemicals and hazardous waste regarding use, mixing and disposing chemicals

Essential Knowledge and Skills
- Ability to read and comprehend English written instructions, including manufacturing work orders, customer specifications, blueprints, and shop control documents
- Quality centered mindset with strong attention to detail, mathematical and technical aptitude
- Able to be a positive team member while also working independently
- Manual dexterity (hand/finger/eye coordination) essential to the Machine Operator role
- General computer skills and ability to update electronic records, enter data into systems, and send emails
- Able to sit or stand throughout a shift and independently push, pull, or lift 10-40 pounds
- Able to read, write, and communicate in English to perform the job
- Consistently meet attendance requirements. Willingness to work overtime, including weekends as necessary
- Comfortable working within a manufacturing environment that includes machinery, moving parts, noise, and chemicals
- Ability and willingness to cross-train in other departments, learning to operate other machinery
- High school diploma or GED required

Compensation for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience. As required by local law, TTM provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in New York, California and Colorado. For California-based roles, compensation ranges are based upon specific physical locations.
