Mechanical Engineer
SUMMARY
Supervise Mechanical Engineering and Documentation Control departments in related activities.
Responsible for documentation control accuracy, security, and maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide engineering support for manufacture, inspection, and testing of goods and services produced.
Ensure adequate staffing for engineering activities.
Provide leadership and engineering support for product/service development.
Maintain communication with customers regarding engineering activities.
Oversee Mechanical and Senior Mechanical Engineer duties and responsibilities.
Manage configuration and documentation control systems in compliance with customer and ISO requirements.
Perform other related duties to ensure an efficient and effective work environment.
Ensure activities comply with Atec International Standards Organization (AS9100/ISO) policies and report deviations accordingly.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee mechanical engineering, design, and drafting activities.
Conduct supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and regulations.
Handle hiring, training, planning, assigning, and performance appraisal of mechanical engineering and documentation control staff.
AS9100/ISO SPECIFIC DUTIES
Understand and adhere to Atec Quality Policy and company objectives.
Follow AS9100/ISO procedures and work instructions, completing all required records.
Participate in Atec Improvement Machine (AIM) and AS9100/ISO training.
Cooperate with auditors and report deviations appropriately.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Civil, Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Aerospace Engineering preferred, with 1-2 years of related experience or equivalent.
Experience with mechanical, thermal, fluid, and systems analysis is preferred.
Proficiency with FEA, CAD, spreadsheets, project management tools, databases, presentation graphics, and word processing is preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must qualify for security clearance as required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Frequent, lengthy air travel; ability to meet demands of standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Exposure to travel risks, mechanical parts, high/precarious places, weather conditions, and occasional extended hours or travel.
Noise level generally moderate.
