About the RoleKARL STORZ is seeking a strategic and customer-focused OR1 Global Product Manager to lead the global product portfolio for our Premium Integration Systems. In this high-impact role, you will drive product strategy, lifecycle management, and commercial success for innovative operating room integration solutions used by healthcare providers worldwide.
As a key member of the Global OR1 Product Management team, you will work cross-functionally with R&D, Sales, Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Purchasing, and global stakeholders to translate customer needs into product innovation. You will play a critical role in defining product roadmaps, supporting product launches, and ensuring our solutions continue to meet evolving market and customer demands.
What You'll Do Product Strategy & Lifecycle Management- Lead the lifecycle management of Premium Integration products from concept through launch and sustainment.
- Define product requirements and contribute to the global product roadmap aligned with business objectives.
- Gather market intelligence and customer insights to identify growth opportunities and drive innovation.
- Analyze product performance, market trends, and competitor activity to improve revenue, margin, and market share.
- Serve as the product expert and central point of coordination across engineering, manufacturing, quality, regulatory, and marketing teams.
- Partner with Sales and Marketing teams to support product launches, customer demonstrations, and field activities.
- Build relationships with customers, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and internal stakeholders to gather feedback and drive adoption.
- Support product-related inquiries, issue resolution, and ongoing portfolio optimization.
- Facilitate collaboration between global development teams and commercial leaders to ensure successful product execution.
- Translate customer and market needs into technical requirements for development teams.
- Support usability testing, beta programs, and validation activities to ensure high-quality product delivery.
- Collaborate with Regulatory Affairs and Quality teams to support global product approvals and compliance requirements.
- Address quality, safety, and legal considerations throughout the product lifecycle.
- Assist with intellectual property and patent-related activities as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 8+ years of product management or related experience, preferably within the medical device industry.
- Strong understanding of product development processes and lifecycle management.
- Experience working with medical technology products and regulated environments.
- Solid knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, and distributed computing concepts.
- Familiarity with FDA/MDR regulatory requirements and technical standards.
- Experience gathering and managing product requirements.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional, global teams.
- Master’s degree, preferably in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 10+ years of product management experience in medical devices.
- Experience with healthcare systems, hospital workflows, or operating room technologies.
- Background in systems engineering or technically complex products.
