Chief Accounting Officer
Seeking a Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) to lead a growing global business. The CAO will oversee all global accounting, reporting, and internal controls; ensure accurate financial reporting and SOX compliance; and serve as a key strategic partner to senior leadership on capital markets, transactions, and growth initiatives. Key Responsibilities- Lead all accounting and control functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting (monthly, quarterly, and annual) and compliance with SEC requirements
- Maintain an effective enterprise‑wide system of internal controls and oversee SOX compliance
- Develop and implement harmonized financial reporting systems, policies, procedures, and controls across the organization
- Oversee external reporting, subsidiary accounting, tax compliance, and statutory filings
- Ensure adherence to U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and other applicable accounting standards
- Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on accounting, reporting controls, and the financial implications of business initiatives or transactions
- Participate in financial due diligence, integration activities, and quality‑of‑earnings assessments tied to M&A activity
- Support capital market filings and interactions with external auditors
- Maintain and enhance ERP systems and financial technology infrastructure
- Lead modernization efforts to improve efficiency and streamline financial processes
- Oversee tax planning, reporting, and collaboration with operations on indirect tax matters
- Build, develop, and mentor a high‑performing accounting team
- 15+ years of progressive accounting leadership, including significant experience in a public‑company environment
- Deep expertise in U.S. GAAP, IFRS, SEC reporting, and SOX compliance
- Active U.S. CPA required
- Big 4 experience strongly preferred
- Experience leading accounting operations at scale and modernizing systems/ERP solutions
- Proven ability to partner with executive leadership, auditors, and Audit Committees
- Strong communication, organizational, and decision‑making skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and uphold high professional standards
- Hands‑on leadership style with strong executive presence
- Demonstrated success driving change and improving processes
- Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or technology‑driven environments
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with document management and redlining tools
- Competitive salary of $300k‑$350k+ (depending on experience)
