Pharmacist - Full Time - Houston (20013)
The purpose of the Staff Pharmacist position is to support all daily pharmacy operations and ensure compliance with all applicable pharmacy laws, rules, regulations, policies, best practices, and standard operating procedures. The position will require supervision of technicians, business, and clerical staff along with performance of staff pharmacist duties.
Qualifications- Graduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS Pharm or Pharm
D. degree. - Licensed and registered pharmacist in Texas.
- ACPE-accredited IV certification.
- Pharmacy supervisory or management experience preferred.
- Long‑term Care pharmacy experience preferred.
- Computer literacy is required.
- Must be able to handle potentially stressful situations and multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to effectively communicate, direct, and at times delegate tasks.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English is required.
- Good organizational, problem‑solving and computer skills; good written and verbal communication skills for interfacing with staff, physicians, patients, and other contacts.
- Performance of staff pharmacist duties.
- Serve as a team leader and role model of Cantex high ethical standards and code of conduct.
- Ensure delivery of quality pharmacy services to all patients and facilities.
- Identify and resolve operational problems impacting productivity and pharmacy effectiveness.
- Assist in defining and implementing strategic plans for pharmacy growth and business evolution.
- Anticipate and interpret customer needs, identify quality and service‑oriented solutions, and share findings with staff.
- Answer incoming communications promptly and integrate excellent customer service activities.
- Work with pharmacy staff to anticipate and interpret customer needs and business challenges.
- Maintain a working environment that promotes respect and dignity among patients and staff.
- Build confidence and respect through a positive and energizing style.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with pharmacy staff, superiors, other healthcare providers, and the public.
- Assist with recruitment, selection, verification, and training of competent, licensed, registered, and/or certified department staff.
- Supervise professional employees and/or supervisors, technical staff, clerical staff, and business support staff.
- Assist in identifying internal and external talent and actively cross‑train staff.
- Assist with annual employee evaluations and provide counseling or disciplinary action when appropriate.
- Participate actively in pharmacy meetings to review departmental issues, expense control, labor control, and other relevant topics.
- Perform periodic rounds of all areas/departments to ensure safety, sanitary conditions, proper systems, and appropriate supervision.
- Recognize development needs and capability gaps and help identify specific projects/assignments.
- Ensure prescriptions are dispensed in accordance with all Federal and State laws, regulations, SOPs, best practices, and internal policies.
- Supervise all pharmacy areas and departments, including receiving, filling, packaging, dispensing, delivery, inventory, record‑keeping, loss prevention controls, and security.
- Maintain appropriate inventories of pharmaceutical products, supplies, forms, and office supplies.
- Demonstrate experience and skill in sterile and non‑sterile compounding procedures.
- Provide technical guidance to pharmacy staff in product preparation, clinical information management, and counseling activities.
- Use reference tools to evaluate patient care and answer customer questions.
- Manage pharmacy financial resources and compile data, providing cumulative reports as required.
- Assist the business office with timely financial records and cost reports to appropriate personnel and agencies.
- Troubleshoot third‑party discrepancies and prescription filling issues.
- Keep records, prepare reports, estimate costs, and perform related clerical and administrative tasks involved in pharmacy operations.
