The Assistant General Manager is a key executive leader responsible for overseeing the daily operations of Fort Bend County WCID No. 2, ensuring the delivery of safe, reliable, and efficient water and wastewater services. Reporting to the General Manager, this role drives operational excellence, regulatory compliance, financial stewardship, and strategic planning across the District.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned utility operations leader with extensive experience in managing complex water and wastewater systems within a public‑sector environment. They bring strong operational expertise, a firm grasp of regulatory frameworks, and a commitment to delivering high‑quality service to the community.
This individual thrives in both strategic and hands‑on roles—someone equally comfortable shaping long‑range plans and diving into operational challenges. They excel at building trust with staff, the General Manager, and the Board while fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
A natural collaborator and communicator, the ideal candidate effectively represents the District with regulators, partner agencies, and community stakeholders. They bring financial acumen, sound judgment, and a proactive mindset, ensuring the District operates efficiently, complies with all requirements, and maintains its commitment to service excellence.
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 7 years senior‑level management experience (public utilities preferred) OR 10 years related experience.
- Strong knowledge of water/wastewater operations, regulatory compliance, and public administration.
- Skilled communicator with the ability to analyze data, solve complex problems, and lead multidisciplinary teams.
- Valid Texas Driver’s License.
