Day in the Life You arrive before the first shift, review the production schedule, and set priorities for the day. A quick huddle with fabrication, welding, assembly, material handling, and shipping/receiving aligns everyone on goals. You confirm materials and shop drawings are ready, then walk the floor to check setups, safety, and organization. As jobs move, you verify work against blueprints, monitor output and quality, and pivot resources to keep ductwork, fittings, curbs, plenums, transitions, and custom sheet metal products on track.

When needed, you jump in hands-on—operating brakes, shears, a plasma table, the coil line, Pittsburgh machines, welders, or a forklift—to remove bottlenecks and keep production flowing.

What You Will Do Oversee daily shop operations, including production schedules, manpower allocation, and job sequencing.

Lead, train, and support team members across fabrication, assembly, welding, material handling, shipping/receiving, and general shop tasks.

Review and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, work orders, and material takeoffs to ensure precise fabrication.

Coordinate the fabrication of HVAC ductwork and components such as fittings, curbs, plenums, transitions, and other custom sheet metal builds.

Continuously monitor workmanship, throughput, safety practices, equipment utilization, and shop organization.

Operate shop equipment and perform fabrication work as needed to maintain momentum and quality.

What You Bring3–5 years of sheet metal fabrication and/or commercial HVAC experience.

Previous experience serving as a shop foreman or equivalent supervisory role.

Deep knowledge of HVAC ductwork, sheet metal fabrication methods, and custom fittings.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, specifications, and work orders.

Hands-on experience with brakes, shears, plasma tables, coil lines, Pittsburgh machines, welders, and forklifts.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who balances people leadership with technical know-how and a commitment to quality and safety.
