Gateshead Job Type: Full-time Salary: £38-48k, depending on experience My client is looking for someone to join their team as an Accounts Manager . Based at the Gateshead head office, this role plays a crucial part in supporting multiple UK trading entities and an overseas subsidiary. If you are a dynamic finance professional looking for a hands-on role within a growing organisation, this is an excellent opportunity.
Day-to-day of the role Bookkeeping & Transaction Processing Maintain accurate, up-to-date bookkeeping across the group's trading entities. Process purchase and sales transactions accurately, ensuring proper allocation to entities, including situations involving shared suppliers or banking relationships. Sales Invoicing & Intercompany Recharges Manage customer invoicing and the end-to-end intercompany recharge process, ensuring accurate reconciliation and supporting documentation. Credit Control & Accounts Payable Oversee credit control, including chasing aged debts and managing risk accounts.
Handle accounts payable and organise payment runs across different entities. Payroll Support Assist with payroll, including collating variable pay data and resolving payroll queries. VAT & Statutory Compliance Prepare and file UK VAT returns for each entity and support statutory filings and compliance requirements, including those relating to the overseas subsidiary. Management Reporting Provide financial data to support the Finance Manager in producing monthly management accounts and cash flow reporting.
Required
Skills & Qualifications Part-qualified or qualified accountant (AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent), or demonstrable experience in finance operations.
Experience with multi-entity finance operations and intercompany transactions. Strong skills in UK VAT compliance and familiarity with credit control, accounts payable, and payroll support. Proficiency in Excel and experience with job-management or accounting software. Ability to engage with multiple stakeholders and prioritise effectively across entities.
