Position: Assistant Sensory Support Co-ordinator

Do you have excellent administration skills but would like a new challenge? Does something rewarding and different appeal? If so; this may be the role for you!

ASSIST provides access and support for people who have hearing and/or vision loss. The service has a focus on supporting adults in community, workplace, and further & higher education settings.

Main Responsibilities

You will:

  • help with the day‑to‑day running of ASSIST, by working together with the Sensory Support Co‑ordinators and reporting to the Project Co‑ordinator.
  • help organise community and education work which involves regular communication with staff, customers and partners.
  • need an eye for detail as you create, maintain and update electronic files, paper‑based files and Outlook diaries, in a way that everyone in the team can access and understand.
  • have the opportunity to develop specialist skills, knowledge and understanding in relation to sensory impairment.
The Ideal Candidate

You must have:

  • Experience in administration or equivalent qualification
  • NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration or high‑level computer skills
  • Confident and competent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Hearing and vision impairment knowledge would be useful; however, specialist training will be provided in this area if you do not have this knowledge.
