Receptionist – Emergency Department

University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is one of the largest and most modern NHS trusts in the North Midlands. We serve around three million people across two sites:
Royal Stoke in Stoke‑on‑Trent and County Hospital in Stafford.

Visa sponsorship is not available for Band 2 to Band 4 roles. Previous applicants need not apply.

• Provide professional and friendly customer‑facing service to patients, visitors and staff.
• Perform reception duties including managing calls, handling triage information and directing patients.
• Maintain accurate registration records and call logs.
• Collaborate with the ED team and use initiative to prioritise workload in a busy environment.
• Ensure confidentiality and compliance with NHS policies and procedures.

• Experience in a customer‑focused role, preferably within an NHS setting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Adaptability and ability to work flexibly in a high‑pressure environment.
• Professional attitude with a commitment to high standards of patient care.
