We’re partnering with one of the UK’s leading contractors to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a high-profile, highly unique project in the Midlands—a scheme that forms a flagship component of a £5bn national portfolio of works. This is a technically challenging and strategically important project, offering the chance to work on a nationally significant programme with high visibility and impact.
The Opportunity
You will play a leading role in commercial and cost management, overseeing all QS responsibilities on a technically complex programme of works. This is ideal for someone who thrives on detailed cost control, contract management, and working collaboratively with clients, contractors, and project teams.
Responsibilities- Prepare, review, and manage project cost plans, budgets, and forecasts.
- Manage contracts, variations, claims, and procurement processes across the supply chain.
- Provide accurate and timely financial reporting to senior project leadership.
- Support risk management, contract negotiation, and change control processes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Mentor and guide junior QS and commercial team members.
We’re looking for a technically strong, commercially aware, and proactive professional who brings :
- Extensive experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within a contractor environment.
- Proven delivery experience on major or complex projects—civils, infrastructure, energy, or industrial sectors advantageous.
- Strong NEC or JCT contract knowledge.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to operate confidently within a high-profile, fast-moving project environment.
