The OpportunityAs the Principal Contractor Site Manager (PCSM), you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day management and coordination of site activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in full compliance with statutory requirements, client expectations and STRABAG's high standards of operational excellence. Acting as the key site leadership representative, you will oversee site teams and supply chain partners, driving a strong health, safety and environmental culture while ensuring quality, programme and commercial objectives are achieved.
Responsibilities- Discharge STRABAG UK's responsibilities as Principal Contractor in accordance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM).
- Develop, implement and manage the Construction Phase Plan and associated site management arrangements.
- Ensure effective coordination and cooperation between all contractors and stakeholders working on site.
- Establish and maintain suitable site rules, welfare facilities and emergency arrangements.
- Ensure all works are planned and executed in accordance with approved safe systems of work.
- Manage all day-to-day site activities to ensure safe and efficient project delivery.
- Coordinate suppliers and direct labour to achieve programme objectives.
- Monitor construction progress and implement corrective actions where required.
- Ensure adequate resources, plant, materials and competent personnel are available to undertake the works.
- Chair site coordination meetings, toolbox talks and daily briefings.
- Maintain accurate site records, diaries and reporting information.
- Provide visible leadership and actively promote a positive safety culture across all site activities.
- Ensure all RAMS, permits and work packs are reviewed, approved and implemented prior to commencement of work.
- Lead site inspections, audits and behavioural safety initiatives.
- Investigate incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
