The Institute of Explosives Engineers is the professional body for those who work within the explosives industry. We are seeking a dynamic and organised Marketing and Events Co-ordinator to join our team. This role involves the management of all social media, organising events and meetings, the review of membership applications, providing support to industry Working Groups, and managing our quarterly Journal content.

The ideal candidate will possess strong management, communication, and organisational skills, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your career and will include travel to meetings and events with overnight stays (sometimes out of hours).

Duties
  • Provide general administration support to members of the IExpE Office Team as required
  • Provide updates to Office Manager and Office Supervisor relating to all work streams
  • Management and design of content and timeline for Trello board, social media channels, website and e-shots
  • Analyse and report on social media statistics
  • Liaise with our Creative Marketing Company for all branding and design, social media and website design
  • Review and monitor of IExpE promotional materials and branded items
  • Ensure compliance with brand guidelines
  • Review and assessment of applications for membership for final approval by Executive Officer
  • Assist with initiatives with other institutions, partners and associations
  • Preparation and delivery of IExpE promotional webinars
  • Assist with the update and maintenance of CRM database
  • Maintain and monitor industry events calendar
  • Event lead for IExpE Corporate and Company Member Networking Events, management of host and venue, distribution of event information, management of delegates
  • Co-ordinate and support all other company events, including venue location and selection, speaker and delegate liaison, sponsor and exhibitors, delegate management, programme planning, marketing and promotional materials, audio visual requirements
  • Promotion of IExpE Awards, receive nominations, liaise with recipients, ensure roll of honour up to date
  • Attend at exhibitions and events as an exhibitor to promote
  • Source articles and adverts for the Journal, liaison with editors, obtaining article approvals, proof reading and dispatch of digital and paper version
  • Produce report articles on IExpE events and activities
  • Maintain and update register of archive articles
  • Emerging Professionals Focus Group lead, including liaison with Group chair and Group members, scheduling and attending at EPFG Meetings, production of minutes and action register, distribution of relevant documents, provide assistance to progress Group output
  • Assist Women in Explosive’s Group lead with Group actions and promotion of Group
  • Deputise for ESSG lead and other working group leads as required
Experience
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to draft compelling copy for diverse audiences
  • Demonstrated ability in social media management with experience in creating engaging digital content
  • Strong analysis skills with the capacity to interpret data insights into actionable strategies
  • Experience in event organisation from conception through to delivery is highly desirable
  • Leadership qualities with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
  • Experience coordinating, planning, and executing events, including managing suppliers, venues, and on-site logistics
  • Can do attitude and willingness to develop skills
