University Hospitals of North Midlands is currently unable to provide sponsorship this role. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Qualified Dental Nurse with GDC registration to join our Oral Max Fax Surgery and Orthodontic team at UHNM.

The successful candidate should be enthusiastic, motivated and be able to demonstrate a compassionate approach to care. Working collaboratively you will be part of a highly skilled and dedicated team ensuring the delivery of safe and high quality patient care.

The role involves working with our multidisciplinary teams across both sites where necessary . Preparing and maintaining the clinic setting and providing a high standard of dental nursing.

Main duties of the job

Effective communication with patients, staff and across the multidisciplinary team.

Record accurate and timely patient records.

Provide reassurance and demonstrate compassion and empathy.

Monitor Patients throughout their visit and respond to medical emergencies.

Deliver pre and postoperative advice verbally to patients.

Nurse and support for complex treatments in Orthodontics, Oral Maxillofacial surgery and multidisciplinary clinics.

Prepare all surgeries and instruments appropriately for complex procedures.

Prepare, handle, transfer and dismantle all types of dental equipment and instruments.

Manage their own day to day activities such as planning and organising clinics, and joint appointments with other departments and hospitals.

Be competent and trained in Intra Oral scanning, intra oral impression taking and clinical photography.

Maintain adequate supplies of stock, ensuring their efficient and effective use.

Be competent and trained in Trusts IM&T systems.

Ensure compliance with the Trusts statutory and mandatory training.
