We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join our dynamic team at a thriving secondary school in Stafford. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to teach Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4) students, igniting their curiosity and helping them develop a strong understanding of the scientific world.
As a Science Teacher, you will plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons that inspire students to explore the wonders of science. Your role will involve preparing students for GCSE exams, fostering a love for science, and providing constructive feedback to support their academic development. You will also be responsible for marking students' work, tracking their progress, and maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high‑quality Science lessons to students in KS3 and KS4 across all three sciences (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics)
- Plan and prepare lessons in accordance with the national curriculum and school policies
- Assess students' progress regularly through marking, feedback, and formal assessments
- Support students in preparing for their GCSE exams and help them achieve their full potential
- Foster a passion for science and encourage students to think critically and creatively
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively to create a positive and productive learning environment
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop schemes of work and teaching resources
- Participate in staff meetings, school events, and extracurricular activities as required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics or combined sciences) and a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS or equivalent)
- Experience teaching Science at KS3 and KS4 is preferred, but not essential
- Passionate about science education and able to inspire students to engage with the subject
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that meet the needs of all learners
- Committed to ongoing professional development and working collaboratively within a team
- Strong organisational skills to manage planning, marking and assessment
