Lecturer in Social Science (ability to teach Criminology) (Maternity Cover)

Location: Newcastle-under-Lyme and Stafford College

Hours: Full Time (Temporary - maternity cover)

Salary: £32,136 - £42,848 per annum

We are looking for a Lecturer of Social Science within our Academic Studies (A Level) Department who can teach L3 Criminology to cover a maternity leave period.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Play an active role in the delivery of the Social Science curriculum, including L3 Criminology.
  • Deliver excellent standards of teaching and learning across all curriculum areas.
  • Engage in core duties including preparation, marking, monitoring student progress, preparing reports, marking examination papers, and developing flexible learning materials.
  • Participate in marketing of the College, Faculty and Department.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
  • Teaching qualification (PGCE or DTTLS) or willingness to obtain.
  • Teaching experience, ideally within the FE sector.
  • Well organised and able to manage a varied workload.
  • Effective communication skills with students and peers.
  • Proactive, innovative and supportive approach to delivery.
