Smile Education is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive school in Wolverhampton for a Year 6 Teacher to join their team on a maternity cover basis. This is a full-time position starting as soon as possible and continuing until the Spring Term of 2027. The school is open to applications from both Primary and Secondary qualified teachers
, recognising the varying needs, abilities, and learning profiles of the pupils within the class. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and adaptable teacher who is committed to making a positive impact on the educational journey of children with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). To ensure a smooth transition, a comprehensive handover period with the current class teacher will be provided.

• Full responsibility for a Year 6 class, including planning, preparation, assessment, and reporting.
• Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to pupils' individual needs and abilities.
• Support pupils with a variety of SEND, ensuring all learners can access the curriculum and achieve their potential.
• Work collaboratively with support staff, senior leaders, parents, and external agencies where required.
• Contribute positively to the wider school community.

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in either Primary or Secondary Education.
• Has experience working with children with SEND and is confident adapting teaching strategies to meet a range of needs.
• Demonstrates strong classroom management and relationship‑building skills.
• Is committed to undertaking the full teaching role and seeing the placement through to completion.
• Can start as soon as possible and quickly establish positive relationships with pupils and staff.
