In partnership with the University of Staffordshire, St Leonard’s C of E First School invites applications for a Post‑Graduation Teacher Apprentice (Primary). Key Responsibilities

University of Staffordshire
The Apprenticeship ProgrammeSuccessful applicants will undertake the Level 6 Teacher Apprenticeship (Postgraduate Route) with the University of Staffordshire. The programme runs for up to 12 months, with 80 % of the time spent learning and working in school and 20 % directed by the University (one day per week). Apprentices will observe and support experienced teachers, receive extensive subject‑specific training, and benefit from whole‑staff coaching and mentorship.
The apprenticeship will conclude with a recommendation for Qualified Teacher Status.
- GCSE English Grade 4/C or above
- GCSE Maths Grade 4/C or above
- GCSE Science Grade 4/C or above
- A 2:2 Degree or above
- Be able to live and work in the UK
- Have lived in the UK continuously for the three years prior to September 2026
- Be employed for a minimum of 30 hours per week
- Hold a contract of employment covering the entire duration of the apprenticeship
- Have a BRP/Visa valid for the entire duration of the apprenticeship (if applicable)
- Not be on any other government‑funded programmes
