An Ofsted‑rated Good secondary school in Birmingham is seeking a creative and enthusiastic Drama / Music Teacher to join its Performing Arts department from September 2026 on a full‑time, long‑term basis. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons across Drama and Music at KS3 and KS4, inspiring students to develop their creativity, confidence, and performance skills. You will teach a broad and engaging curriculum, supporting students in practical performance, composition, devising, script analysis, rehearsal techniques, and musical appreciation while preparing learners for GCSE Drama and/or Music qualifications where applicable.
Working within a collaborative Performing Arts department, you will plan and deliver high‑quality lessons, assess student progress, and create an inclusive classroom environment where students feel confident to express themselves creatively. You may also contribute to school productions, concerts, performances, and extracurricular clubs, helping to enhance the wider cultural life of the school.
The Candidate- Hold QTS; ECTs are welcome to apply
- Have experience teaching Drama and/or Music across KS3 and KS4
- Be confident delivering practical and theoretical aspects of the curriculum
- Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills
- Be committed to supporting student progress and raising attainment
- Have a passion for the performing arts and inspiring young people through creative learning
- Be keen to contribute to extracurricular performances, productions, and enrichment activities
