You will join a team that specialises in providing comprehensive support to the armed forces, offering Subject Matter Expertise (SME) across all aspects of Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
You will excel in developing solutions to ensure the GSE is surveyed, refurbished and maintained in accordance with organisation standards.
You will be part of a team that will handle a wide range of equipment within the GSE. You will assist in a variety of roles including planned/Ad‑Hoc advanced repairs, using various sources such as Approved Source Information (ASI) or Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) data.
Our key services include surveying, repair, general maintenance, and recommendations for modifications. You will take pride in adhering to schedules and budgets, offering expertise in resolving Urgent Operational Requirements (UORs) for equipment lacking OEM support.
What you'll be doing- Perform self‑directed test, diagnostics, repair, maintenance, modification, calibration and manufacture of equipment down to module/individual component level using approved engineering documentation and techniques.
- Hold self‑certification, over‑signing, certifying & conditioning of equipment responsibilities (serviceable/unserviceable/scrap).
- Supervision, training and over‑signing of junior/equivalent grade staff & apprentices.
- Carry out feasibility and development activity, including reverse engineering and creation of supporting engineering documentation/test procedures.
- Use a combination of different IT software.
- Provide specialist advice as required.
- Work within a scheme of engineering governance and comply with all policy and legislation.
- Previous experience in scheduled maintenance and repair.
- Eligibility to meet the criteria of professional Registration of Eng Tech, in accordance with the UK‑SPEC.
- Level 4 qualification and advanced/higher apprenticeship; or Level 3 qualification, a nationally recognised engineering apprenticeship and some engineering experience within their discipline or specialism area.
