This role is a 2 Year Graduate Scheme within the Global Engine Development (GED) department at Stafford Engine Centre (SEC). SEC Develops and Manufactures the Perkins 4000 and 5000 Series. The job role consists of the development and maintenance of the software systems that support the department to function efficiently. Support analysis and resolving technical problems with relation to the Test Bed Control System and administrate the task of CAT Validation Manager.
Rotation through business sectors is an option to give an understanding of wider business functions and experiences to help you in your future career. The 2-year scheme leads into a role within GED focusing on Test Bed Control System Programming Data Science Engine Performance Automated Test Sequencing Controls & Validation.

Job duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Engine test analysis; resolving technical problems with relation to the Test Bed Control Systems
- Development and maintenance of the infrastructure of IT systems that support the department to function efficiently
- Use of programming concepts for performance and emissions calibration and the acquisition of data
- Planning and improving testing procedures and operations to make the test cells more reliable efficient and cost-effective
- Ensure solutions that are aligned to the current systems are best practices and comply to federal policies and procedures
- Manage updates upgrades and other maintenance tasks in both hardware and software areas to make the systems more efficient cost-effective and secure
- Coordination of day-to-day engineering activity and management of test and analysis activity
