CAD Manager - Substations

Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for CAD Manager on a 6 month rolling contract, based in Stafford - Hybrid.

To lead and manage the CAD production team for substation (National Grid) projects, ensuring all drawings are delivered accurately, on time, and in full compliance with company, client, and industry standards, including National Grid (NG) requirements.

• Lead, supervise, and support the CAD team, allocating work and monitoring performance.
• Develop, implement, and enforce CAD standards, procedures, and best practices.
• Coordinate drawing production and interfaces between engineering disciplines, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Ensure all deliverables meet National Grid compliance requirements and project specifications.
• Review and approve drawings for accuracy, consistency, and quality prior to issue.
• Maintain drawing registers, version control, and document management processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows, efficiency, and digital delivery methods.
• Provide technical guidance and training to team members where required.

• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and related CAD software.
• Proven experience working on substation or electrical infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of CAD standards, drawing control, and design coordination.
• Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
