Job Description Summary /p>
Activities contributing to the product design improvement for manufacturability, design of tools, jigs and fixtures for easy manufacturability of HVDC Transformers and co‑ordination with manufacturing process engineers for process improvement, SOP generation and improvement projects. Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures.
Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance. /p> b>Job Description p> b>Responsibilities
/li> li>Work with CAD models and production constraints to ensure proper compatibility in 3D/2D model. /li> li>Creating and optimizing manufacturing processes. /li> li>Often involved early in product design to ensure feasibility. /li> li>Collaborates closely with design engineers. /li> li>Support production but improve product design for easier manufacturing and suggest design changes to reduce cost/time. /li> li>Drive value engineering and cost reduction initiatives.
/li> li>Design and develop jigs, fixtures, molds, dies and customized tools for easy manufacturability that improves safety, quality, delivery and cost. /li> li>Work with vendors for fabrication and validation of tools. /li> li>Maintain tooling standards and documentation. /li> li>Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WI) and CTQs. /li> li>Work closely with Design Engineering, Procurement (material specs, vendor capability), Quality team & Production for cross‑functional collaboration.
/li> li>Provide technical support to shop floor and resolve production challenges in collaboration with manufacturing process engineers for each section. /li> li>Conduct and lead DFMEA and PFMEA. /li> p> b>Education and Experience ul> li>Electrical or mechanical engineer or person with experience in Design and Manufacturing (in Power Transformers). /li> li>Experience of working on 3D, 2D tools (Inventor / equivalent, AutoCAD).
/li> li>Experience of Document management system (Windchill / equivalent). /li> li>Transformer design knowledge. /li> li>Good knowledge about the Power Transformer manufacturing process. /li> li>Experience as an industrial engineer with good knowledge of transformer manufacturing process and 2D/3D tools. /li>
