In this role you will be a key contributor within our dedicated repair cell, focusing on the intricate diagnostics, repair and modification of these vital electronic components during their lifecycle. • Perform comprehensive diagnostic testing and fault‑finding on electronic circuit boards, modules, and complete protection relay systems.
• Conduct component‑level repairs, including precise soldering, desoldering and replacement of various electronic components.
• Interpret and utilize complex schematics, technical drawings and other engineering documentation to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Execute modifications and upgrades to existing products as part of aftersales support and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Document all repair activities, test results and quality checks accurately and meticulously.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to analyze recurring faults, identify root causes and contribute to design improvements.
• Operate and maintain a range of specialised test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, functional testers).
• Adhere strictly to all quality, safety and environmental procedures and regulations.
• Engage in ongoing learning and development to stay current with product technologies and repair methodologies.
• Keep available for occasional international travel to other grid automation facilities for knowledge exchange and training, typically up to two weeks.

• A technical qualification (HNC/HND, Degree or equivalent apprenticeship) in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent relevant experience.
• Hands‑on experience in electronic repair, diagnostics and component‑level troubleshooting.
• Proven ability to operate standard electronic test and measurement equipment.
• A keen problem‑solving mindset, curiosity to understand “why” things work (or don’t) and willingness to perform trial and error to find solutions.
• Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail, especially with intricate electronic components.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Strong commitment to quality workmanship and continuous improvement.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electronic schematics, circuit diagrams and technical specifications.
• Prior experience with protection and control systems, grid automation products or similar industrial electronics.
• Familiarity with GE Vernova protection relays or similar products from other manufacturers.
• Experience in an aftersales service or repair environment.
• Knowledge of quality management systems or lean principles.
