Job Description
Are you ready to play a pivotal role in the green energy transition? As a Senior ITO M&E Construction Engineer in our Electrification team, you help build the infrastructure that powers our world. Based in Stafford, you bring your expertise to our projects, ensuring that our high‑voltage (HV) substations are constructed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
Your Role in the TeamYou join a collaborative team where you bridge the gap between technical planning and on‑site execution. You take ownership of the electrical and mechanical (M&E) estimation and contracting processes, ensuring every project is set up for success from the tender phase through to delivery.
What You Will Accomplish- Drive Project Success:
Analyse customer specifications and engineering data to create accurate, reliable cost estimates and schedules for site setup and installation. - Lead Procurement:
Prepare technical Request for Quotation (RFQ) documents and lead interactions with subcontractors, partnering with the right teams for every job. - Collaborate and Connect:
Work closely with the tendering team, engineering, and site managers to integrate your plans into the broader project strategy. - Champion Safety and Quality:
Be a key voice in Hazard Identification (HAZID) meetings and ensure that all on‑site operations reflect our commitment to excellence and EHS standards. - Support Execution:
Provide ongoing technical support to site managers after the tender phase, managing our supplier network and ensuring a seamless handover to project delivery.
- Substantive experience in the construction of HV substations.
- Technical proficiency: solid grasp of electrical engineering documentation, such as layouts, Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), and Bill of Quantities (BOQ).
- Regulatory knowledge: understand application of CDM regulations and relevant UK standards for electrical works.
- Safety mindset: prioritize health and safety in everything you do and have the training to back it up.
- Communication: write and speak clearly in English, conveying complex information effectively to both internal teams and external partners.
- Collaboration:
thrive in a hybrid, multi‑disciplinary environment and be comfortable traveling to project sites or subcontractor locations across Northern Europe. - Optional: proficiency in additional European languages or experience with offshore platform installation work would be a fantastic asset.
