Gas Turbine Design Engineer

Overview

Aerospace Gas Turbine Design Engineer roles to join an engineering team developing light helicopters for the global market. The company designs, develops and manufactures their products in the UK.

• Develop mechanical design schemes and detailed designs of gas turbine parts and assemblies.
• Develop rotating and stationary components.
• Develop cast, fabricated and machined parts and assemblies.
• Develop schemes for controlling tolerance stacks and critical fits and clearances.
• Create high‑quality 3D CAD models of engine parts and assemblies.
• Work with the production team to ensure parts and assemblies are optimised for efficient manufacture.
• Create high‑quality technical drawings and documentation.

• BSc/BEng in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or HNC/HDC with equivalent experience).
• Proficient in modelling parts and assemblies in 3D CAD (ideally CREO; training provided).
• Proficient in producing detailed manufacturing drawings.
• Experience with a PLM system (ideally Windchill; training provided).
• Experience with typical gas turbine materials, processes and practices.
• Experience with small gas turbine engines considered a major advantage.
