Controls Engineer
£45k -£55k + Overtime, Pension, Flexitime, BUPA
Staffordshire.
We are seeking a Controls Engineer with a strong background in both electrical design and PLC software development to support the delivery of bespoke automation projects from handover through to commissioning.
The successful candidate will take ownership of projects, producing electrical designs and control system software, whilst ensuring all technical requirements are delivered to specification, on time and within budget. You will work closely with panel builders and internal engineering teams to ensure designs are correctly interpreted and implemented throughout the build phase.
Controls Engineer –
The Role:
Producing AutoCAD or EPLAN electrical design packages for bespoke control systems
Creating electrical schematics, installation drawings, material schedules and supporting project documentation
Developing Functional Design Specifications (FDS) and test documentation
Programming and configuring PLC, HMI and SCADA systems
Developing software using Siemens Classic, Siemens TIA Portal, Allen Bradley Control Logix and Mitsubishi GX Works platforms
Supporting the design and development of industrial control systems for a wide range of applications
Carrying out in-house testing of control panels prior to shipment
Participating in machine testing and system validation activities
Supporting UK and overseas commissioning activities where required
Working closely with panel build, engineering and project teams to ensure successful project delivery
Assisting with technical troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives
