You’re a specialist transformer electrical engineer with hands‑on experience in active part design, combining technical rigour with practical engineering judgement and a genuine curiosity for electromagnetic system behaviour.
Required Skills- A formal education in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline provides a strong foundation for this role; however, we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.
- Proven knowledge of transformer electrical design, with particular depth in active part design including lead exits, insulation systems, windings and nesting, and core and clamping structures.
- Working knowledge of IEC
60076 and/or IEEEC
57 standards for power transformer design and testing. - Experience using Finite Element Modelling (FEM) tools for electromagnetic or thermal analysis in a transformer design context.
- Ability to produce clear technical documentation including design calculations, manufacturing instructions, and engineering drawings.
- Experience applying Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) methodology in a transformer or high‑voltage equipment design environment.
- Familiarity with document management and Product Data Management (PDM) systems such as Innotec Imagine, PTC Windchill, or similar platforms.
- Experience with AutoCAD or 3D modelling tools for transformer component design.
- Exposure to HVDC transformer design or high‑voltage direct current system requirements.
