At Skanska, we’re shaping the way we live, work and connect. As one of the world’s largest construction and development companies, we work together with customers, communities and partners to shape a better society.

You will be working in the Technology & Sustainability department where we harness digital transformation and innovation to meet ambitious climate goals and deliver sustainable solutions for our customers.

We are currently looking for an Assistant Environmental Sustainability Manager, who will help shape the environmental performance of the M54-M6 Link Road in South Staffordshire.

Working alongside the Environmental Manager and a skilled project team, you’ll help drive high standards of environmental compliance, support ecological mitigation, coordinate inspections, and champion best-practice environmental management across a large and complex infrastructure site.

The scale and pace of this project make it an exciting role for someone who is organised, proactive, and eager to make a real impact. You’ll work closely with site teams and stakeholders, helping to embed environmental excellence into day-to-day delivery while contributing to a project that will leave a lasting legacy for the area.

As The Assistant Environmental Sustainability Manager, You Will

  • Report, investigate, and support the close-out of environmental incidents in line with the Environmental Management System (EMS).
  • Identify key environmental risks and concerns, helping to ensure effective mitigation measures are in place.
  • Support the delivery of environmental aspects of the works, including vegetation clearance, archaeological activities, and ecological surveys.
  • Provide clear environmental advice and guidance to project teams, and assist with securing required legal consents, licences, and exemptions.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with regulators, clients, and other external stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for sustainability innovation and collaborate with other disciplines to embed practical improvements across the project.
We Are Looking For
