In summary;
Promote a critical, analytical approach to the delivery of care ensuring that the ward environment is responsive to the changing needs of patients and the requirements of their care plan as defined by the MDM/MDT. Administer medication, complying with relevant Trust procedures and NMC Guidance.

Ensure the safe custody of all patients as determined by the clinical team.

This includes the supervision of patients within the hospital, grounds and the community, as required.

Be accountable for ensuring all aspects of security (physical, relational, procedural) are maintained and regularly reviewed through the wider directorate leadership team and appropriate ward staff Continuing responsibility for the effective functioning of the clinical environment including resource management and ensuring safe staffing levels on a shift by shift basis.

Overall responsibility for setting clinical and educational standards and monitoring and maintaining these standards.

Regularly undertake audits of clinical activity and standards and develop plans of action to address any improvements required.

Develop methods for identifying, maintaining and improving the quality of patient care within the designated pathway/ward environment.

The post holder will be required to work within the NMC Code of Practice and professional guidelines.
