Data Team Lead
Heathrow/Stafford/Hybrid (with travel to UK sites)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary:

About the role

We’re looking for a Data Team Lead to take ownership of our data services across the Medequip group (including Rosscare and Consolor). This is a hands-on technical leadership role, overseeing a small team and ensuring high-quality, reliable data is available to support operational performance, strategic decisions, and compliance obligations.)

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Data Operations & Management

  • Lead the day-to-day activities of the data team, including tickets, change requests, and reporting tasks.
  • Manage data refresh cycles, performance tuning, and SQL Server uptime.
  • Ensure reporting continuity across Medequip, Rosscare, and Consolor.
  • Oversee Power BI dashboards, paginated reports, and performance metrics.
  • Review and approve complex DAX, SQL, and Power Query logic.
  • Support and promote self-service analytics with reusable datasets and models.

Data Governance & Quality

  • Define data standards, naming conventions, validation rules, and documentation practices.
  • Work with data owners to cleanse poor-quality data and build proactive quality controls.

Strategic Contribution

  • Shape future data architecture, warehousing, and integration strategies.
  • Collaborate with 3rd parties and internal IT on APIs, ETL, and structured data flows.
  • Support system changes, contract migrations, and new service integrations.

Qualifications and experience required.

  • 5+ years in data-focused roles, ideally in complex environments
  • Strong SQL Server and T-SQL experience, including performance tuning
  • Proven delivery of data warehouse/reporting solutions

Understanding of secure handling of sensitive data (e.g. patient or contract data)

Key Technologies & Tools

  • BI Tools:
    Power BI, DAX, Paginated Reports, Excel Power Pivot
  • Data Sources: TCES, Sage, bespoke systems
  • Scripting (advantageous):
    Python, Power Shell, R
