Ward 15 is a 28‑bedded Elderly Ward looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and innovative Senior Staff Nurse to join and lead our nursing workforce. We have a multidisciplinary workforce model focused on providing safe and effective patient care, leadership and development of the nursing team.

• The post holder will be responsible for the assessment of the needs, development of programmes of care, and for the implementation and evaluation of these programmes for patients and their relatives.
• To lead and provide a high standard of clinical nursing within the department.
• To manage a group of patients.
• To take charge of the ward when rostered and assessed as competent to take on the roles and responsibilities of leadership and supervision.
• To act as a role model to students and Nursing Assistants, Assistant Practitioners/trainees and Nursing Associates/trainees.
• To present a positive, professional image of the organisation and of the nursing team.

• Diploma in Nursing

• Evidence of degree level study in health/nursing related studies

• Minimum of 2 years post registration experience in acute medicine/emergency medicine or frailty
• Ability to utilise initiative to solve problems and develop the service

• Experience of managing a diverse team utilising the full spectrum of HR practices

• Positive mindset in respect of supporting organisational change, learning and continuous improvement
