Manufacturing Quality Leader - Drive Continuous Improvement

Job Description Summary

The Manufacturing Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing the quality control processes and EHS within the manufacturing facility. As a visible member of the manufacturing leadership team you will inspire those around you and be responsible for delivering operational excellence in the SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) framework. This role ensures that all products meet or exceed customer expectations and comply with regulatory standards.

The Manager will lead the quality team, develop quality controls, and collaborate cross-functionally to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Under the Manager’s leadership the quality team will be the first port of call for production support and with the aim of keeping the line moving. The role is a pivotal position in a fast‑paced environment that requires both technical expertise, strong leadership, and clear communication.

Ultimately the manager leads the Manufacturing Quality team to create a strong quality and safety culture with engaged and motivated staff while maintaining strong working relationships with all stakeholders (internal, external, and customers).

• Develop and implement comprehensive strategies and procedures to meet manufacturing standards, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, standards, certifications, and customer requirements.
• Lead and develop a culture supportive of the GE Vernova Way, ensuring effective communication across the quality organization and that the team understands and is aligned to operational goals. Mentor and manage the quality control team, fostering a culture of quality, safety and continuous improvement. Conduct regular training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge within the team.
• Identify areas for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance product quality and efficiency, targeting reduction in product and process variation using metrics to measure performance.
• Work closely with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the manufacturing process, facilitating communication and collaboration to address quality‑related challenges.
• Address customer quality concerns promptly and effectively, protecting customers through structured problem‑solving and quick, transparent resolution.
• Maintain detailed documentation of non‑conformance reports, audits, and inspections. Prepare and present actionable quality performance reports.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management within an engineering manufacturing environment.
• Certified Quality Management or Certified Qualifying Engineer.
• Qualified as a Lead or Internal Auditor in the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
• Experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA).
• Leadership and team management experience in quality‑focused industries such as automotive, aviation, and defence.
• Desirable knowledge of ISO 14001 environmental management.

  Qualification:
  
  NEBOSH General Certificate, IOSH Managing Safely, or an equivalent certification.

• Interpretation of technical drawings, specifications, charts, and an ability to recognise and understand tolerance and accuracy.
• TQM/TQC, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing.
• Proven ability to analyse complex data and drive process improvements.
• Demonstrable experience of standardised problem‑solving techniques such as 8D, 5 Whys, FMEA, or similar recognised engineering problem‑solving techniques.
• Implementation of Statistical Process Control.

This position may require occasional travel to supplier or customer sites. The role requires working in a manufacturing environment, including standing or walking for extended periods.
