Salary: £35,000–£37,000 DOE

Are you an experienced Transport Planner looking for your next challenge?
We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established, family-run transport business that operates a busy national haulage operation supporting a major retail contract. This is an excellent opportunity to join a close-knit transport team where your ideas, commitment and planning expertise will genuinely make a difference.
Working alongside the Transport Operations Manager, you'll be responsible for planning and coordinating daily transport operations, ensuring vehicles, drivers and subcontractors are utilised efficiently while delivering outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities
* Plan and optimise daily transport schedules.
* Allocate vehicles and drivers to maximise fleet utilisation.
* Monitor live transport operations and respond to delays or operational issues.
* Liaise with drivers, customers, depots and subcontractors throughout the day.
* Ensure compliance with Drivers' Hours Regulations, Working Time Directive and transport legislation.
* Manage transport documentation, KPIs and operational reports.
* Support continuous improvement across the transport operation.
* Maintain excellent customer service and communication.
What We're Looking For
Essential
* Previous Transport Planning experience.
* Strong geographical knowledge of the UK road network.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Ability to make decisions under pressure.
* Experience using Transport Management Systems.
* Good understanding of transport legislation and compliance.
