Direct Support Professional; DSP

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you play a crucial role in assisting individuals with mental health needs to lead fulfilling lives. You will provide support in daily activities, promote independence, and foster a positive environment for personal growth. Your work will directly contribute to the well-being and recovery of those you serve.

• Provide compassionate support to individuals with mental health challenges in daily living activities.
• Assist clients in developing and achieving personal goals, enhancing their independence and self-esteem.
• Monitor and document client progress, behaviors, and any changes in their mental health status.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create and implement individualized support plans.
• Facilitate social and recreational activities that promote community engagement and personal development.
• Maintain a safe and supportive environment, ensuring the well‑being of all clients.
• Communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members to foster a collaborative approach to care.

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in mental health or related fields is a plus.
• Experience working with individuals with mental health challenges or disabilities is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and team members.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
• Compassionate and patient demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.

• Certification in CPR and First Aid.
• Experience with crisis intervention techniques.
• Knowledge of local mental health resources and support services.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
