Position:
Maintenance Technician (Food Manufacturing Facility)

Location:

Stafford, Virginia.

Base pay range: $25.00/hr - $30.00/hr.

Responsibilities
  • Complete repairs, modifications, and preventive maintenance for food processing equipment, packaging lines, conveyors, slicers, boilers, compressors, HVAC and glycol systems on docks, production floors, freezers, and coolers.
  • Adhere to OSHA regulations, food safety policies, work practices, and lockout/tagout procedures in all work assignments.
  • Monitor electrical systems, fire alarm, and fire suppression systems.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance calls for all areas of the facility.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and systems to determine repair and replacement requirements (e.g., air handlers, cooling towers, compressors, electrical switch gear, MCCs, pumps, lighting, and building automated control systems).
  • Test boiler pH and conductivity.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and NETA (International Electrical Testing Association).
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED (required).
  • 3–5 years of experience in mechanical and electrical trades.
  • Previous experience in food manufacturing systems, hydraulics, PLC controls, conveyor systems, and pneumatics.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC and Refrigeration (freezers/coolers).
  • Familiarity with SCADA systems.
  • Ability to work in hot and cold environments.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, P&, and architectural drawings.
  • Availability to work weekends and off hours as required.
  • Excellent communication skills for relaying important machine and process information.
  • Good computer skills for using Microsoft software and maintenance management systems.
Additional Information

The role includes a rotating on‑call schedule with other departmental team members.

Physically demanding position requiring work in hot to cold environments and prolonged standing (including from elevated areas).
