The Medication Technician supports resident care within the branch, ensuring that residents’ daily medication needs are met in a compassionate way that maintains their dignity, allowing them to live their life to the fullest.

There is a caregiver manifesto at

• Accurately follow the resident MAR to ensure medications are given according to physician orders
• Understand and follow the Six rights of medication administration and all policies and procedures regarding medication management
• Understand and appropriately utilize the eMAR system for medication administration
• Communicate with clinical leadership for clarification and direction regarding resident medication administration and care
• Provide direct resident care; supervise the resident care work of non-licensed team members as appropriate
• Be a leader in demonstrating the Bickford Mission “Whatever it Takes” to all other team members on shift

• An active Medication Technician Certification in good standing or at least one year of experience in the care of seniors
• High School Diploma or GED
• Willing to take additional training or education as required by state
• CPR and First Aid certifications are required
• Ability to handle multiple priorities
• Written and verbal communication skills
• Organizational and time management skills
• Good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Ability to utilize or learn Bickford’s eMAR system to administer medications
