Softball Assistant Coach

Softball Assistant Coach – Stafford County Public Schools

This position will be responsible for student athletes or students that are a part of activity programs at the secondary level. The coach will help teach technical skills, ensure safety and foster a culture of discipline, good sportsmanship, and a safe learning environment for social interaction.

• Oversee or lead all aspects of the sport or activity sponsor program.
• Plan and conduct effective practices, competitions, and meetings.
• Supervise and support fellow coaches and other staff.
• Collaborate with colleagues, coaching staff, and demonstrate appropriate behavior among students.
• Ensure compliance with VHSL, district, and school policies.
• Manage scheduling and program organization.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school administration.

• Education: High‑school diploma required.
• Experience: Previous experience in the sport or activity sponsorship program preferred.
• Certifications: Completion of all VHSL and district coaching requirements (CPR/First Aid/AED, concussion training, and background check).
• Skills: Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.

• Standing, sitting, walking, reaching, turning/twisting, balancing/climbing, stooping/kneeling, crouching/crawling.
• Weight:
  Rarely, occasionally, frequently lifting 1‑25 lbs; lifting 26‑50 lbs; lifting 50+ lbs; carrying, pushing, pulling an equivalent load.
