We are looking for an experienced Senior Full Stack Developer you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services using Python and Django.

You'll work with in multidisciplinary Agile teams, collaborating with product managers, designers, and Dev Ops engineers to deliver secure, resilient, and user-focused applications.
Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Python and Django
  .
• Build secure RESTful APIs and integrate with internal and third-party services.
• Develop applications following Frontend design principles and standards.
• Implement secure authentication and authorisation using OIDC and OAuth 2.0.
• Develop and maintain PostgreSQL database schemas, queries, and migrations.
• Containerise applications using Docker and Docker Compose for local development and deployment.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following best engineering practices.
• Troubleshoot production issues and support continuous service improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality digital services.

• Excellent hands-on experience with Python and the Django framework.
• Good understanding and practical experience working within Agile delivery teams.
• Strong knowledge of Frontend and Government Digital Service (GDS) standards.
• Good understanding of authentication and authorisation protocols, including:
  • OpenID Connect (OIDC)
  • OAuth 2.0
• Experience using Docker and Docker Compose for application development.
• Excellent understanding of PostgreSQL
  , including database design and optimisation.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Experience working on UK Public Sector digital transformation projects.
• Knowledge of AWS cloud services.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Git Hub Actions, Git Lab CI, or similar).
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Pytest.
