Residential Property & Compliance Conveyancer

Location: Stamford/Peterborough

Working Arrangement: Hybrid / Flexible

Oculus Legal Group are partnered with a highly regarded boutique law firm in Stamford with a forward-thinking approach and a strong family feel. The firm is looking to recruit a Solicitor to join a busy team handling a small caseload of mixed residential property matters alongside compliance work.

The Opportunity

This is an exciting role for a Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive, or Licensed Conveyancer who wants a varied position combining hands-on conveyancing with compliance responsibilities. While management is optional, there is the opportunity to lead and support a small team of 3–4 support staff and develop into a Director-level role if desired. The position is open to part-time candidates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing a smaller caseload of residential property matters, including sales, purchases, transfers, and re‑mortgages using LEAP.
  • Supporting and leading the team, with optional management responsibilities.
  • Ensuring compliance with SRA deadlines, regulations, and the SRA Handbook.
  • Conducting auditing, file reviews, ethical reviews, and regulatory reporting.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of training, legislation, and compliance tools.
  • Overseeing AML procedures, notifications to the SRA, annual reporting, and handling material breaches.
  • Supporting a positive team culture and sharing best practice.
About You
  • Confident managing your own conveyancing caseload with a strong eye for detail.
  • Knowledgeable about SRA compliance requirements and regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and client care skills.
  • Able to work independently while collaborating within a supportive, small team environment.
  • Motivated to take on optional leadership responsibilities and develop professionally.
