Role Overview :
As the Despatch Team Leader, you will report directly to the Production Supervisor and play a crucial role in leading yard operations. Your mission? Ensure safe, efficient, and accurate picking, loading, and despatch of customer orders while maintaining high standards of stock control and team performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the Yard Team:
Coordinate daily operations to meet targets and maximise productivity.
Safety First:
Ensure all activities comply with health and safety procedures.
Stock Management:
Oversee picking accuracy, stock control, and loading efficiency.
Process Oversight:
Manage goods inwards processes during your shift.
Team Allocation:
Assign tasks and ensure accurate job bookings.
Drive Improvements:
Champion productivity enhancements and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Team Development:
Support and train team members, providing feedback on performance.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate training and stock records.
Collaboration:
Work closely with planning and production teams to meet customer delivery deadlines.
Inventory Support:
Assist with stock counts and year-end inventory processes.
Flexibility:
Step in for other shift leads when required.
What We're Looking For:
FLT Licence:
An up-to-date forklift licence is essential.
Warehouse
Experience:
Background in a warehouse or yard environment is preferred.
HGV Loading
Experience:
Familiarity with loading/unloading HGVs.
Leadership
Skills:
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Attention to Detail: A commitment to safety and high standards.
