Accounting Manager

Base pay range: $/yr – $/yr.
This role is based in Stamford, CT and will be a key contributor to the accounting and financial reporting function for the management company. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership to ensure accurate financial operations. Discretion, flexibility, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously are essential. The position also involves collaboration with an offshore accounting team and support for all in‑house accounting activities.
Responsibilities- Coordinate monthly closing with offshore accounting team; review and post accrual entries in compliance with IFRS principles.
- Assist in preparation of consolidated management reporting package.
- Perform detailed account reconciliations and ensure accuracy of general ledger balances.
- Maintain proper financial records.
- Record and track management fees and follow up on outstanding invoices.
- Coordinate with external auditors during interim and year‑end audits, providing required documentation and detailed information.
- Develop and maintain internal financial reporting processes, ensuring strong internal controls and compliance.
- Mentor junior analysts and provide technical accounting guidance as needed.
- Proactively improve workflows, processes, policies, account analyses, and distribution of relevant information.
- Assist with implementation of new systems and processes.
- Respond to ad‑hoc requests and inquiries; assist with special projects as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in trading companies or investment banks.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS principles and standards.
- Proficiency with Excel and accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, SAP, SAGE).
- Experience with financial statement preparation.
- Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi‑task.
- Accuracy and a results‑driven attitude.
