Freelance-Part-time Men's/Womens Technical Designer – Onsite, Connecticut
A premium performance and lifestyle apparel brand is seeking a Freelance Women’s Technical Designer to support product execution across multiple seasons. This role will work closely with the Senior Technical Designer and partner cross‑functionally with Merchandising, Design, and Product Development/Production teams to ensure fit, construction, and quality standards are met across women’s and select men’s categories.
What You’ll Do- Partner with Merchandising, Design, and Product Development to ensure accuracy and quality in new styles
- Create and update tech packs including measurements, construction details, and grading using Illustrator, Excel, and PLM tools
- Own styles from initial design handoff through production, reviewing Proto, PP, and PPS samples
- Measure garments, lead and assist fittings, and send detailed fit comments to overseas vendors
- Troubleshoot fit, construction, and quality issues in a fast‑paced environment
- Communicate potential risks impacting fit approvals, quality, or delivery timelines
- Track and organize Proto through PPS samples while maintaining accurate style history
- Collaborate with overseas suppliers and internal teams to resolve issues efficiently
- Support multiple projects independently with minimal ramp‑up
- Open to occasional travel to overseas suppliers
- 7–10 years of Technical Design experience
- Women’s active wear or lifestyle apparel experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of garment construction, finishing, and methods of assembly
- Basic understanding of pattern‑making; digital or 3D experience is a plus
- Proficiency in PLM systems (Centric a plus), Adobe Illustrator, Excel, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage a high volume of styles
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

Norwalk, CT – Salary: $65,000.00–$80,000.00 –
